Club Competition - Results

But first:

It was Lady Captain’s weekend - wouldn’t you know! the sun was shining! - and by all accounts they had a marvellous weekend and it was well deserved for Liz and her organising committee - and we congratulate all the prize winners and competitors. Our thanks to the Lady Captain for putting on a Scramble for the men and the best score was recorded by Con Hogan, Alex Casey, Ned Lonergan and Andrew Gartlan.

The men had a Club Competition on Sunday and it was well supported - except for the Waterford and Cork members who were in Thurles for the ‘big match’. The competition was won by Tom Duggan with an excellent score of 41 points off of 3 handicap but he only won on the last 3 from young Colin Condon off of 13 handicap. In third place was Philip Kearns who had 40 points from his 9 handicap.

A note for all members regarding the course: please, please use the rake after being in a bunker. Relief is allowed if we land in a footprint by one of our nightly visitors, i.e, the deer, but relief is not allowed from a human footprint in the bunker and there are plenty of those. Also, please look after our greens! We hear a lot of complaints about our greens but again, if members would take a few moments extra to look around the greens and repair plug marks then our green would definitely benefit.

Also note: as all of July’s competitions are open competitions the BRS will open - on some occasions - more than a week before the competition. The BRS opening dates are posted on the Notice Board.
