 CLONMEL GOLF CLUB

Men’s Section

A Few Notes

The weather put paid to all golf for the weekend but the Turkey competition, played Mon to Friday had a few entries - see results below.

Just to let members know that a few initiatives have been developed and confirmed by the newly elected Men’s Golf committee under the stewardship of the Captain, Tony Horne.

The first concerns the Stroke Index for the course which after consultation and discussion has been changed quite dramatically. This has come about due to the scoring on the individual holes of the course as analysed by the Club V1 system from 2332 scorecards. The new SI will come into effect when 18-hole competitions resume in March and will be posted on the Notice Board this week. The ladies have also made changes to their SI.

The second initiative is the commencement of a wholly new competition in January to replace the old Magic Seven. The competition is called “Choose Your Partner” and it is in fact an individual competition and scoring system but played in 4ball format. All members will receive the details of this via the Club E-Mail system in the next few days.
